7th May 07: The Jack's Tears Of Perception album is the subject of a short review in the latest
(June) issue of
Classic Rock magazine.
The 6 out of 10 review treats the album favourably and comments that "Clark
Preston's beefy Andrew Wood-style vocals are a big plus point."
1st May 07: CHANGE OF DATE and VENUE - The Ray Wilson/Steve Agnew/The Jack gig at The Carling Yard on Friday 8th June has now been
moved to PJ Malloys on Saturday 9th June - original tickets are still valid.
5th April 07: New gig announced. The Jack are supporting Logan at PJ Malloys,

3rd April 07: New gig announced. The Jack are supporting Ray Wilson
(Stiltskin, ex-Genesis) and Stevie Agnew (son of Pete Agnew from Nazareth) at the

28th February 07: Stuart needs to have an operation to fix
a shoulder injury. This operation is scheduled for the beginning of
March. This means that the Path Tavern gigs on Saturday 10th March and
Saturday 28th April have been cancelled due to the timing of the
operation and to allow time for Stuart's recovery. Apologies for any inconvenience
caused and we hope that everything goes well with the operation Stuart!

18th October 06: The band has added two new dates, Thursday
30th November at Whistlebinkies and Saturday 2nd December at
Pentcaitland Bowling Club. At Pentcaitland the band will be
supporting rock covers band Nitrogen Sky.

16th October 06: Many thanks once again to Willie Winsburgh
for standing in for Stuart this week at the 3 Tuns and PJ Molloys.
Stuart, who has been recovering from his shoulder injury, will
thankfully be fit for the band's upcoming studio sessions and will
resume gigging with the band, with the band's next gig in Hawick.

who is still recovering from his shoulder injury, Martin McClousky and
Dave Stewart, who provided sound and lighting, and finally, Toed Up for

3rd October 06: The Jack had a great gig at Monty's on Sunday
night. There were a lot of great bands, especially Aces High. The
Jack made a lot of new friends and supporters. Special thanks to
Dave Leslie for standing in for Stuart and Greg Russell for helping out
with gear.

19th September 06: The Jack won their heat at Monday's Battle
of the Bands to secure their place in the final. The final will
take place on Sunday 1st October at Monty's. Standing for Stuart will be
the band's original bassist Dave Leslie.

17th September 06: After injuring his shoulder, Stuart will
miss 2 of the band's gigs this week; Monday's battle of the bands at
Monty's, Dunfermline and Thursday's gig at Whistlebinkies, Edinburgh.
The Jack will still be honouring both gigs, with previous bass player
Willie Winsburgh standing in. The Jack would like to thank Willie
for standing in at such short notice. Stuart will return for the
band's following gig at Sinky's, Dunfermline on the 6th of October.

have secured a support slot with acclaimed US 80s rock outfit 'Vain' at
The Cathouse, Glasgow on 20th November, in arguably their biggest gig to
date. The Jack will also be headlining a 3 band line-up at The Path
Tavern, Kircaldy on the 8th December.

the event is so biased towards ticket sales for each band instead of
judging bands on the quality of their music, but it was a Rockin' gig all the same. The Jack would like to thank all those who bought a ticket and came along to support

- 22 December 05: The Jack have once again entered the
Emergenza unsigned
band competition. The band's first gig in the competition is at the Subway
Cowgate in Edinburgh on Thursday

- 02 December 05: The Jack played Rockers in Glasgow last night and despite guitar amp/pedal board connection problems,
and a ripped bass drum head during the last number of the set, it was a great gig.

- 02 December 05: The Jack are currently working on new songs for the next CD, which they expect to record in April
next year for completion in May or June. Gordon is also making his way into fatherhood
around January/February. The Jack plan to start booking gigs again in March 2006

- 14 October 05: The Whistle Binkies gig last night (Oct 13th) was
awesome in every way. The audience were great and around 40 free CDs were handed out.

- 23 September 05: The Jack's new bass guitarist is Willie
Winsburgh. Willie also plays with established Fife covers band "Joe's

Willie's first performance with The Jack was a short set at Sinkies in
Dunfermline on 22nd September, right after his audition! Willie's first
"proper" gig with The Jack is on Thursday 13th October at Whistle
Binkies in Edinburgh.
- 02 September 05: With sadness, we have to announce that Dave
Leslie has left The Jack. Thanks to Dave for all his commitment and
creativity since The Jack’s formation in October 2003. Dave’s last gig
with the band was at Whistle Binkies on Wednesday 28th September 2005.

10 May 05: The Jack played at The Granary in Dalgety Bay on
Friday 6th May. The gig was a milestone for the band as they headlined
for the first time. With a crowd of over 100, the evening was a great
success. Thanks to the excellent DBLT for opening the night. Thanks also
to the SubStation for supplying the PA and Dave Stewart for the great
lightshow. Finally, thanks to all the people who came along to enjoy the
gig.

14 April 05: Unfortunately The Jack failed to qualify for
the next round in the Emergenza competition. The other 7 bands
performed really well and many had very large audiences. "Hands
up" votes is what the competition is all about. The band are far
from disappointed - it was a great gig and audience reaction was
excellent. Very special thanks to all those people that purchased
tickets and turned up to support The Jack.
